When a young woman ends up dead with no ID but the tattoos on her body, it is up to a local philandering cop, an injured FBI agent, a retired Highway Patrolman and a Navajo Sheriff's deputy to solve the case. Each of these investigators are reluctantly drawn into the case for their own personal and private reasons. And one of them had a recent illicit liaison with her. The tattoo of a Flamenco dancer on the girl's upper thigh seems to be reaching for her sex and she is dubbed by the local newspaper reporter The Spanish Dancer. Adding to the mix is that two of the lawmen have a past history that stems back to their high school days and a woman they were both in love with but only one married her, though he might have been the wrong choice. This is a tale of murder, infidelity, hidden secrets, sin and sex and is Brooks' second mystery. Bill Brooks has been praised at Historical novelist and his book THE STONE GARDEN: THE EPIC LIFE OF BILLY THE KID was named by Booklist as one of the ten best novels of the past decade.
