A jar full of cherries (who feel, think, and talk as much as you and I) are discontent with the prospect of being placed one by one on the top of ice cream sundaes, and so they run away from the soda fountain where they live. They want freedom, and this book tells us of their different search for it. The conclusion is both bitter and sweet.
