It's Christmas Eve in Bardstown, Kentucky and sad people go where sad people go - to escape and forget their sadness. The scene is The Bluegrass Tavern and the hero is Santa Claus. Santa comes to brighten the lost sentimentality on a special night. Then a wrong turn causes everything to go astray. Earl McCabe, replacement hero, tries to make everything right, but he's over his head in more ways than one. In the end of the matter, the lives of a special few are brightened, though one year later it's Christmas Eve all over again, and sad people still seek solace in the midst of a community making merry. This is a humorous about difficult times. Written for Mid-America everyday folks, it features a red head, tight blue jeans, a pickup truck, grandma, and Santa Claus. There has to be a good story in there somewhere.
