It should have been a quiet summer for Lily Mossberg, an anthropology lecturer at a New England university in an alternate world, who is also a local consultant for the federal Psi Disease Centers. Things have been quiet since the previous autumn, when her team stopped an operation trafficking in wildlife shape-shifters. The summer peace is shattered, however, by a missing person case that turns into something much more dangerous. Lily thinks her daughter is safe at summer camp but no one is safe now. Lily and her partner Wes find themselves in the midst of danger and intrigue, trying to stop an insidious evil and save their friends and loved ones.
