TimeShock

(2001)
A novel by

TimeShock takes one of sci-fi's oldest and most intriguiing themes, time travel, and combines it with a hearty dose of archeology that focuses on the mystery of the Southwest's Anasazi Indians. A small group of archeologists, scientists and students set up camp at an isolated Anasazi site to perfect their dream of creating the science of temporal archeology when things go terribly wrong. Through a freak accident the advance team finds themselves thrown back in time to the world of the Anasazi. When the rest of the team arrives they find the camp abandoned and conduct a desperate effort to get their friends back and repair the timeline.

Add a number of characters that you quickly come to believe you've known all your life and you become engrossed in the enigmas they confront. The action is fast paced and the interpersonal dynamics intense and complex; romance and suspense complete a compelling story that has a number of surprising plot twists.
