Gina Cresse

USA

Gina Cresse was born and raised in California. She has lived in Southern, Northern, and Central California. She enrolled at Humphrey's College in Stockton, California after deciding a career in chicken-slinging for a fast-food restaurant chain wasn't for her. She earned a degree in Computer Science, thinking there just might be a future in computers. She hit the mark with that one. She graduated on a Friday, started working as a programmer the following Monday, and has been working as a software developer ever since. That was back in 1983.Having a strong artistic and creative nature, Gina was always dabbling in the arts. She grew up with a love for horses, and spent hours drawing them in every pose imaginable. She used her own horses as subjects, and successfully competed in small art competitions at local county fairs. She loved drawing and painting, but soon she heard the call of music. At age twelve, her parents bought her a guitar. Her brother taught her to play, and soon she was hooked. She bought every John Denver songbook she could get her hands on. This would be her first venture into writing--songs, that is. She penned a few songs in high school. At age sixteen, she performed on stage with her brother, but was too nervous to enjoy the experience. She and a friend performed in a small talent show, where they won first prize--twenty dollars in dimes and an eight-pound ham.As an adult, Gina found that writing software, though it did require a degree of creativity, didn't satisfy her need to be artistically creative. Writing fiction had not occurred to her until one day when she was reading a bio on John Grisham during her lunch hour at work. Grisham was one of Gina's favorite authors. He was a lawyer who decided one day to write a book--and he found success. Gina, never afraid of a challenge, thought, "I wonder if I can do that?" A short time later, she was lying in bed, unable to sleep. A story idea was running through her head. At one in the morning, she got up, turned on her computer, and started writing. A year later, A Deadly Change of Course--Plan B was complete. The story was about the escapades of Devonie Lace, an ordinary, innocent bystander caught up in an extraordinary caper. Gina continues to write adventures for the Devonie Lace series.
