Social Services took Ashlee's little girl Catie away years ago when they declared her an unfit parent, diagnosed her as a paranoid schizophrenic. Catie's foster parents want to adopt her now but Ashlee refuses to let her go. She admits her mind is slipping, that maybe she wasn't the parent, but she is her Real Mother after all. When Ashlee is seated behind the foster parents at a concert where Catie is performing though, and overhears their conversation, she knows she has a choice to make.
