She grew up in the American Northwest with grandparents from Norway and Finland a big part of my life. She cherishs her memories of them. When she met her husband who grew up in Israel, she was saddened to learn that he never knew his grandparents they were murdered in the death camps of Europe. Knowing that made the tragedy of the Holocaust much more real to her. Long a fan of mystery and romance, she set out to write a novel that would give her an opportunity to weave a story that draws upon history shared by both Norwegians and Israelis (and Europeans) that is the brutality of the Nazis and the impact of World War II on survivors up to current times. At the same time, she wanted the reader to find solace in Norways beautiful scenery.
