A fragile peace exists between the settlers and the Apaches in Arizona Territory in the late 1870s, but long-held hatreds fester beneath the surface. Then, without warning, an ambitious, arrogant cavalry officer leads an attack on a peaceful Apache camp and suddenly the whole frontier is like a tinder box. Only Ty Wheeler, an aging army scout, can prevent a bloodbath - but is there time before the Arizona Territory is once more ruled by the law of the gun?
