Deadly Persuasion As the new Chief of Staff to the tenacious Governor LeGrand Beckstead, Sam McKall finds himself in the middle of a heated controversy: a multibillion-dollar deal to bring a nuclear waste dump to the Pishute Indian reservation in Utah's west desert is turning into a game of murder. Two "accidental" deaths of people hoping to thwart the deal pique the interest of Sam's reporter pal, Wayne Smith. Sam makes a few inquires and finds himself with some powerful, faceless enemies determined to prove they can destroy his life.
