The horrors of twenty years as a combat photographer had broken John Lockhart. When he went to Orkney in search of peace he took the beautiful model Karen Brewer with him. He loved her, but doubted if her love for him would survive the isolation. She proved him wrong. Then she was brutally murdered, and Lockhart devoted himself to finding her killers and unravelling the mystery of a neolithic tomb. All the time, though, there were ruthless killers shadowing him, and only a burning desire for revenge worked in his favour.
