THE SOMALI SANCTION is action-packed, fast-paced and brutally realistic. We are introduced to Jarred Stowe, former MI5 Security Service Officer, blunt instrument and hell child. Having been suspended from active duty, Stowe is reluctantly recalled back into to service. He finds himself pared with protagonist and former MI6 Operative Mark McCabe. A spate of British Hostage taking by Somali Pirates has gotten out of hand. The UK Government dictates no negotiation, so Stowe and McCabe become the unwitting solution. Unbeknown to them one of the hostages is non-other than the British Home Secretary, Terry Madden and his wife Sarah, taken whilst on a yachting vacation off the Seychelles coast. Meanwhile, nestled by the dark waters of loch Glen, Inver Coe is a remote Scottish highland fortress. Deep within its historic stone walls, ten men and one woman are seated around a table. They are members of a secretive organisation known as the Shadow Men. The British and American government agencies, in which they serve, have given them a special mission, they must bring back the Home Secretary and eliminate the Somali terror cell leaders behind his abduction. The Shadow Men answer to one woman, known only as The Rain Angel, a former CIA assassin, turned double agent and British Security Service Advisor. She alone knows who to call. But members of the Shadow Men are not all aligned! Before he was exiled, before every ounce of his dignity and self-confidence was crushed and striped away, Jarred Stowe was thought of as a terrorist's worst nightmare. He was loathed and admired by MI6 and the politicians at Whitehall. He was a blunt instrument capable of killing with devastating effectiveness. Stowe was as good as any Security Service Officer could be, until MI6 wanted him burned. When Stowe and McCabe, two formidable and clandestine operatives who work best outside the normal chain of command - men who do not exist, are bought together in a strange twist of fate -- they set out to select, train and mobilise a crack team. But, McCabe and Stowe are not the only ones hatching plans. Jack Sterling, Head of CIA Operations in the Middle East and Africa and member of the Shadow Men -- has recruited Hezbollah master terrorist Farid Bashir to do his dirty work. For decades Bashir has blazed a trail of death and destruction across the Middle East and now Somalia. He controls the Islamic influenced pirate clans in the south and wants to take over the clans in the north. McCabe and Stowe will soon be in his path, threatening the shady passage of US backed arms deals through Somalia to fuel the Afghan war. The new acting Home Secretary, Donald Stamper has one obstacle in his way, Terry Madden must not make it home alive. Bashir is now set on a collision course with McCabe and his team, one, that if not halted, will engulf the entire northern region of Somalia in a savage war -- With the clock ticking, McCabe and Stowe are tipped off by the Rain Angel about the plot to kill Madden. They only have two-weeks to do whatever it takes to stop Bashir, save Madden and avert an unthinkable catastrophe. The hunters are about to become the hunted.
