Lizzy Shannon admits a fascination with stories with themes where people have been thrust completely out of their element, such as the astronauts on the Planet of the Apes futuristic Earth, the lone half-Vulcan Spock in Star Trek, and the English Captain Blackthorne in Shogun, a pilot adrift in ancient feudal Japan.
Thrown out of her own element when she emigrated from Northern Ireland to the United States, Time Twist grew from a facetious 'what if' into a full-blown science fiction/time travel tale. Lizzy worked briefly as a Consultant with the Ricia Mainhardt Agency in New York.
Lizzy recently had a screenplay optioned in Hollywood, and other works include a stage adaptation of LM Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, which has been on two US national tours; also a fantasy short story set in Ulster, Navan's Hound, in an anthology by Wolfsinger Publications, WolfSongs I.
She is a Board Director of the Willamette Writers, who hosts a high-profile literary conference every August in Portland, Oregon.
