A Dark Root Samhain: A Lesson in Magick

It is Merry's last Samhain in Dark Root, and Maggie's last chance to convince her older sister to stay. That means everything has to be perfect this Haunted Dark Root festival.
But the veil has thinned and both spirits and demons are free to pass between worlds, blurring the line between the living and the dead. When a sacred ring of unfathomable power disappears, Maggie must put aside her personal agenda to find the artifact before the sun sets on Dark Root forever.
This short story was originally written for the Witch or Treat anthology (2017). It is a stand alone short with a few spoilers.
