Life in this galaxy is no fairy tale.
I stopped believing in fairy tales when my abduction from Earth turned into a true living nightmare. Eventually, the humans on Baroque saved me. Brought me out of hell and to a tentative peace. Now I have to protect my battered soul somehow, so I play by three rules:
No dalliances.
No drama.
Most importantly, no aliens.
Nothing good ever comes from aliens.
Except Baroque has its own rules for the humans seeking sanctuary on its surface. So when three shunned warrior Broqu lords claim me as tribute, I have to play by their rules or face leaving the only safe place in this galaxy.
And these aliens?
I'm not sure anything is safe with them.
