This book is a work of fiction set in modern day Rome wherein Lepidus takes the reader on a journey of his civilization and life. The chapters are entitled: I exhume myself; sleeper awakened; and rehabilitated; some dinner and an alarm; Centurion plays centaur; interrupted explanation; Roman reflects; she comes; old love and the new; chapter of accidents; strange discovery; we picnic with our ancestors; love, the immortal; hero turns cynic; Lepidus philosophizes; some reproaches and a proposal; so as by fire; last resort; spoils to the victor, death to the vanquished.
