For the past year, I’d been pushing everyone away. It said more about them than it did about me that they hadn’t kicked me to the curb yet. Before I got the news that shocked my entire nervous system, I’d been all about having fun, being the best beta to Jaime’s Alpha there was. Now I couldn’t even remember what that felt like, and I doubted the online server made up of trans gamers I’d stumbled upon would have the answers, but it was the closest I’d had to a lifeline in a long time.
Rox, Viola, and Dixie all had their own issues, their own demons to battle, and reasons for all the rules that came with joining their pack.
