What’s more dangerous: archaic curses or buried secrets?

Spring break has just begun at Birchwood Academy, and for Argo, the town sheriff, and his boyfriend Darian, that should mean peaceful days and quiet evenings in one another’s company. But dinner with friends takes a strange turn when a mysterious man interrupts their meal with a cryptic business proposition. They decline. The next day, they find the same man dead in his own antique shop.

As Argo and Darian investigate, a reclusive rare book dealer reveals a chilling twist: the murdered man was desperate to sell an antiquarian book rumored to carry a deadly curse—its every owner doomed to die violently. Skeptical at first, Argo can’t ignore the legend when a second corpse turns up in a similar shop where he believes the book was hidden.
The case tightens around Darian and Argo’s inner circle when evidence begins to implicate their friend Rory’s charming but secretive boyfriend, Crispin. With the body count rising and suspicion growing, the couple must race to unravel the mystery before the curse claims another victim—possibly a member of their own circle.
