In life, eccentric aristocrat Lady Frances Capel was known for her habit of setting challenging puzzles, but the problem she leaves behind after her death looks unsolvable. When the undertaker is found dead at her funeral, DCI Jude Satterthwaite is left with a headache for a whole host of reasons, and a case he’d very much rather not be working on.

With both Becca and Gil in grave danger, Jude and his colleague DS Ashleigh O’Halloran find themselves in a race against the clock. Can they solve the mystery before time runs out and a second life is lost?
