Wolves only kill people in fables … right? If not, if it’s true shifters are killing humans, who are they and how can we stop them?

I’m supposed to be home, digging a den with Azan so we can perpetuate our species—coyote shifters, but Azan does a good job impersonating a jackass sometimes. The only male I’m aching to curl up with is gorgeous, loving, intelligent Kip. Too bad our elders take such a dim view to cousin mates. To escape pressure from my pack, this looks like the perfect time for a vacation in the form of a secret murder investigation across state lines.

Making this hunt my own means I must prove to my elders that I can assemble the right pack for the mission. A couple of coyote friends and a puma with a bad attitude seems like enough—at first.

Different types of shifter weren't meant to work together anymore than huge wolf packs were meant to destroy everything in their path. Far too late, I discover that wolves have become our worst enemy. They might also be our salvation.

I thought dealing with the attention of Azan and Kip was plenty to worry about in my love life. I never thought of adding larger, far more dangerous predators to the mix. Yet I’ve also never known anyone like Smoke or Malachi or Timothy. My new pack of loners, outcasts, and city wolves might be my last hope—not only for love or vengeance, but for survival.

This novel is the first in The Shaman’s Pack, a spin-off series from The Witch and the Wolf Pack. Either series can be read independently.
