Just when Ja'Kia was getting used to the fact that Brookshire House was about to be her home for the next year or so, Ja'Kia's hurtful past comes back to haunt her. A stormy night at The Haven - a community center where Ja'Kia often volunteered - ends in Ja'Kia giving birth to a baby in the toilet. Though Ja'Kia fought with every ounce of strength she had to resist Prince's arrogant charm, she couldn't help but notice that Prince was there when she needed comfort most.

Prince is confronted with a few issues of his own. After a head injury, Prince finds himself unable to wreak havoc on the soccer field. Despite his grumpy demeanor, Ja'Kia is determined to stay by his side. And Prince finds himself drawn to the fact that a girl he had only known for a few months, paid very close attention to what mattered most to him.

Unable to keep his feelings to himself any longer, Prince confesses his feelings to Ja'Kia at the homecoming dance. The undeniable attraction between Prince and Ja'Kia catches team captain, Princessa's attention. Princessa refuses to let Ja'Kia outshine her both on and off the dance floor. Ja'Kia thinks her circumstances couldn't get any worse, but she finds out that there's a deeper connection to Prince than she'd expected.
