I'm Ceian, a displaced jinn on parole for crimes I didn't do. Also known as a genie. Living in a small coastal mountain town on Earth has been an adjustment, to say the least.
Despite mayhem, murder, and bodies, my friends and I managed to get my teahouse, The Fainting Goat Tea and Spice, up and serving customers.
For the first month after opening, things seemed to be settling down; the cute police detective wasn't glaring at me quite so much, and my teahouse was booming.
I needed the teahouse to succeed to show the folks who locked me up that I could be a functioning member of society--even if they weren't certain Earth counted as such.
Then some weird seabird came into town. And the bodies started falling again.
