Tierney Emer graduated from the university and left the man she loved behind. Finn Lorcan was interested in another woman. When she traveled to New York to pitch her novels to publishers, she met Dylan Jaxon, the son of a real-estate mogul, who took her to restaurants and museums. Dylan proclaimed his love and insisted she marry him. She did not love him and returned to Eastern Nebraska to further her writing career.
