A woman’s worst fear is conquered only by the strength of her love…For the first time in her adult life, Georgia Brunel is surrounded by those who love her. Buoyed by happiness, she, Aunt Millie, and her son, Theodore, home from Oxford for the summer, take flight in the airship Helena for Cornwall. Along with their friends aboard Foresight, they are to attend the greatest scientific symposium of the decade. Hosted by the Earl and Countess of Falmouth, they will meet engineering luminaries from all over Europe and England.

But on the first day of the symposium, the infant Falmouth heir is discovered missing from his bed. Worse, Teddy Brunel is missing from his. Are the two disappearances connected? Was Teddy attempting to save the child or was he the target? And what does a Venetian assassin’s coin found at the scene mean—other than certain death for someone at the estate?

The house is full of the talented and famous. The reporters shouting at the gates must not get wind of this disaster. And the Prince Consort must be prevented from coming to award the prize for best invention. It is up to Georgia and Millie to swallow their fear for Teddy and the baby, and marshal their wits to help locate them. Along with a pair of Texican gentlemen with skills gentlemen shouldn’t possess, they must work in the shadows to find the missing boys before time runs out … and takes the most precious person in Georgia’s life with it.

‘I found it refreshing to read something where the main characters are ‘women of a certain age.’ Both women have agency and intelligence—and the backbone to use them. Being women and products of their social class, they are limited in their ability to be taken seriously by those in charge, which makes the conflict organic. And look out for the chickens. There are always chickens.’ —Fanbase Press

The Aeronaut’s Heir
is the fourth cozy fantasy novel in the Lady Georgia Brunel Mysteries series set in the Magnificent Devices steampunk world. Though the books can be read as standalones, there are threads of love and family, tea and chickens, running through them all. No strong language, just a very proper kiss or two and a satisfying solution. Enjoy!
