I came to Borneo to save orangutans.
Or that’s what I told people.
Really, I was trying to save myself.
After a career of deadlines, stress, and eating lunch standing up, I traded Chicago newsrooms for a volunteer camp in the rainforest. I expected humidity, mud, and maybe a monkey stealing my socks. I did not expect John Tash.
John is loud. Magnetic. Opinionated. The kind of man who takes up space without apologizingand somehow makes everyone laugh while doing it. He also has a hero complex, a retired tech fortune, and a heart he pretends isn’t soft.
We clash. Constantly.
We care. Too quickly.
Then a palm oil company threatens everythingour work, our orangutans, our sanctuary in the trees. John wants to fight with money and influence. I want to fight with truth and voice.
Side by side, we protect what matters.
Maybe saving these gentle, clever creatures means learning how to save ourselves.
Maybe it also means learning how to loveslowly, honestly, without running.
And just maybe, this wild, humid jungle is where I finally stop feeling alone.
A feel-good, wholesome journey of finding where you belongno matter your age.
Genre: Romance
