(2026)
(The first book in the Taking You Home series)
A novel by

My ex locked me out in a thunderstorm and refused to let me grab my things.

He spent years convincing me I should be ashamed of my own body.

My phone was about to die, so I called the only person I could.

My brother's best friend.

A few minutes later his SUV pulled up to the curb, and he opened the door and I slid into the seat.

He went back up to the house to grab my things.

He pounded on the door, and my ex swung it open already grinning, "I knew you'd come crawling ba—"

When my ex looked up, he froze, then tried to slam the door.

He pushed it open and moved my ex to the side.

He came back out carrying my suitcase, my purse, and my favorite hoodie.

He climbed in the car, closed the door, then we drove back to his place in silence.

He parked in the driveway, and before I could say a word, he lifted me over the center console and onto his lap, holding me against his chest.

My arms slipped around his shoulders as his grip tightened around my waist.

When I looked up, his dark eyes locked on mine as he growled,

"I'm about to do something I won't be able to take back.
