A Story by

Jax Miller burned down his old life for Piper. Now she is carrying the one thing he is terrified he does not deserve.

Jax comes home from every game bruised, bleeding, and checking Piper for damage before he acknowledges his own. The Minneapolis Maulers'' feared enforcer trusts his body to protect everyone except himself.

Piper knows the man beneath the violence. She also knows he believes his father’s cruelty lives in his blood.

Which is why she has not told him she is pregnant.

When the truth finally comes out, Jax responds the only way he knows how: by protecting, providing, and quietly shutting Piper out. But she refuses to build their family around his fear—or accept pleasure from a man who will not let himself be loved in return.

As old wounds threaten the future they fought to choose, Jax must decide whether his hands are destined to repeat the past or strong enough to create something new.

The Wolf’s Den is a high-heat, open-door unexpected-pregnancy hockey romance featuring a fiercely protective enforcer, an established couple, hurt and comfort, found family, and a hard-earned happily-ever-after.

Reading-order note: Jax and Piper fall in love in Black Ice, with their move to Minneapolis continuing in The Trade. The Wolf’s Den delivers a complete pregnancy storyline and HEA, but those earlier stories provide the fullest emotional payoff.
