Ted lives by one rule that has kept him alive for almost twenty five years. Don't get too close.

It's kept him safe his whole life. Safe from the people who were supposed to love and protect him…but didn't. Living in a rusty old trailer that no one visits works for him because he doesn’t have to push people away. People always hurt him and he won’t let that happen again.

Unfortunately, Kacen didn't get the memo. He shows up in Ted's world the way good things sometimes do. Quietly and without making a fuss. He doesn’t understand the pull he feels toward the young man who has clearly had a rough go of it, but it’s impossible to keep his distance.

Ted doesn't know what to do with someone like Kacen. The stranger says he wants to help without anything in return, but no one does anything for free.

Wanting and trusting have never been in Ted's wheelhouse, but the temptation to do just that is too strong to ignore. Maybe this is the one time he's not supposed to follow his own rule.

Don't Get Too Close is a spinoff of The Lactin Brotherhood world and has darker edges but the same loving relationships full of strong yet vulnerable men who naturally lactate and the boys who love them. This M/M romance has heavy themes including past abuse, fear of intimacy, and learning to trust.
