This time, Bryson awoke to a subtle rocking motion and the air had a salty scent to it. Slowly opening his eyes, it wasn’t the sun that greeted him, but instead, it was a couple pairs of bare feet against wooden planks.
The sound of voices and waves crashing echoed all around him. It wasn’t hard to piece together that this time he was aboard a ship in the middle of the ocean somewhere.
With Stella sitting up beside him, Bryson eyed the men that surrounded them. Dressed in tunics and brimmed caps, there was one man who stood among the rest. He was their captain, no doubt.
Bryson tightened his grip around the pocket watch as he took in the way they were eyeing Stella. It didn’t help that they were obviously asking for some kind of explanation as to how they got aboard their ship without them knowing.
“What is that? Are you stealing our goods?” The captain yelled in a thick Spanish accent. He quickly motioned to his crew and they immediately wrenched the pocket watch out of Bryson’s grip.
This can’t be happening.
“It’ll take us another week to reach the port. You can earn your keep by working.”
How were they supposed to escape without the pocket watch?
How would they get back to their time?
They needed it back, and it seemed like working for the captain was the only way. Go on another adventure alongside Bryson and Stella as they struggle to navigate the open waters of the ocean. This time, aboard a ship with ruthless pirates who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
