A novel by

"David Johnson is a fine young man, a real hero from the time he served overseas, but we all know he took some serious damage and most likely won't ever be himself again. He's most likely got that PTSD thing and maybe imagines things. No doubt poor David thinks what he's saying is the truth, but we know better. Don't we?"
Susan closed her eyes, the rage building within her at this injustice.

In this second book in the Wolf Creek series, wounded veteran David Johnson struggles to keep Susan Elliot and his own grandfather safe from the predatory police chief who, after serial murder attempts, still aims to see the man he holds responsible for his brother's death pay for the supposed crime. David and Susan, both suffering from life-changing injuries, would like to look ahead to the peace and safety of a normal life together, but the sense of looming threat forces their investigative efforts as they begin to discover that even more horrible crimes wait to be disclosed in their thinly populated Oklahoma county. (Books in this series will be more interesting if read in order).
