Two men. Two accidental shootings. Both in one day. Were these really hunting accidents, or something more?
As a historic snowstorm is bearing down on Mechant Loup, Louisiana, Detectives Clint Wolf and Amy Rice are called to investigate a double hunting fatality in the Rougarou Swamps. When they arrive, they locate two separate crime scenes where two men—brothers—have been shot, the victims of an apparent hunting accident.
A quick search of both crime scenes reveals a number of troubling details that lead them to believe something more might have happened…but what? Had it been a double murder? If so, then why had the brothers been killed? And by whom?
If all of their questions are to be answered and the case solved, Clint and Amy will have to work swiftly to gather all of the available evidence and catch the killer. Otherwise, the blizzard will arrive and bury everything in its path, and they could end up with nothing but fresh blood on the record-setting snow.
