Ms. Boyett-Compo weaves a very complex and multi-tiered world. The dynamics of this world are outstanding and extremely captivating. Cree is the most "respected" killer among an entire race of killers, and yet he is successfully portrayed with emotions and valid reasons for his "Reaper" status and life. This story is rich and superbly written, and would be a great addition to anyone's library!

BLOODWIND is an action packed adventure that will take you on a journey of erotic pleasure. Kamerone Cree is a shape-shifter with an alpha attitude and a reputation to match. Bridget has to do what sheââ¬â¢s told by her superiors and she has met her match in Kamerone. This tale takes a bit to get to the end, but the development of the characters and advancement of the plot makes it totally worth it. BLOODWIND is the first book in the WIND DEMON series and a wonderful start to what is sure to be an excellent combination of paranormal suspense and adventure.

The first book in the WindDemon trilogy, BloodWind creates a vivid glimpse into a world filled with heartless killers and a society based on the slavery of women. I was completely engrossed by the detailed society rules and regulations behind the Rysalian Empire. What Cree endures to undue his years of indoctrination by the empire is heart wrenching. His complete obsession and fixation on Bridget feels just a little dangerous, while also being absolutely stimulating. A scene in which Bridget manipulates Cree's emotions was infused with lust, excitement, and a little fear. Because Cree is so unpredictable, I never knew what he would do. Bridget is tenderhearted and her compassion makes her perfect in this story. This plot is infused with conniving, devious and often cruel characters that don't care who they destroy on their way to mission-success. Overall, with an awe-inspiring futuristic plot and a heart-pounding love story, this first book in the WindDemon trilogy hits a home run.

Oh m'goodness!!! I have barely laid back the top layer of this exciting adventure. Plots within plots, danger behind every door, and reckless rescues carry along the action. Dozens of characters, friend and foe alike, inhabit the pages of BLOODWIND. We also get a complete account of how the Reapers were created. The writing is spectacularly splendid, the plotting is tight, plausible, and leaves the reader limp from all the emotions. There are some things, like the kind of love that Kamerone and Bridget learn to share, that malice cannot destroy. Reading Charlotte Boyett-Compo's Reaper Series is like being on wild, cosmic thrill rides. By my count, BLOODWIND is a Perfect 10, a space-opera fantasy at its finest.
