Chrissie Bradshaw’s emotionally gripping historical reads have a northern Catherine Cookson vibe with a modern attitude. ‘Rose’s Ever After’ follows on from ‘Rose’s Choice’ yet it can be enjoyed as a stand alone novel
Read ‘Rose’s Ever After’ to follow the twists and turns of Rose’s eventful life. Will the rugged path ahead, full of challenges, lead her to a new ‘happily ever after’?

Chrissie has a lovely writing style that is full of warmth and charm and she is so descriptive with her writing you really do feel as though you are transported back in time as you turn the pages – this was a complete delight... It was a fabulous story – it is 5 stars from me for this one and looking forward to book two in the series! Very highly recommended and a wonderful historical fiction saga.

I was sorry to say good-bye to Rose when the book ended, but I hope she will show up in the future books in this series. If you enjoy historical fiction, especially dealing with families, then I recommend you pick this one up.

Excuse me while I wipe the tears from my eyes before I write this review. Chrissie Bradshaw has crafted this beautiful, wartime saga, that brings you through so many emotions.
“Rose’s Choice” is my first read from this author and it won’t be my last. I absolutely love how realistic it felt. It was clearly written with enough research to make the story and the characters feel real. This is a beautiful coming of age story. Rose faces many heartbreaks and it is an emotional journey to follow.

An absolute gift of a book. The author has woven a rich tapestry of life in a 1940's mining community. This book has it all. Fabulous characters, family secrets, tragedy, love, warmth and humour.

Chrissie Bradshaw gives this historical read a Cookson vibe, but perhaps with more of a modern attitude. We will persevere, despite the sorrow and loss....It’s a story that has its heart-wrenching moments, but also uplifting ones and characters full of determination.
Genre: Sagas
