Written by David Bibley and illustrated by Colin Twinn. Fifteen year old Adam Britwell, wanted to grow up quickly to serve his master, Sir William Irvin, a strong Parliamentarian in the Civil War. One day, when Adam personally became involved, things started to happen. First of all, he allowed a decrepit stranger to steal Mariana, Sir Walter's favourite mare. Then, in a desperate attempt to recover the mare, he gave chase on a half-trained wild stallion.
