Lady Victoria Spencer has loved one man her entire life. Of course he never notices her. Why should he? She’s a wallflower and no one pays the unwanted ladies much mind. She spent a lot of time at Foxcroft Abbey as a child, and was close friends with his sister. They would follow him around the estate as much as he allowed, until one day he said some hurtful words that she would never forget. How could he ever love a woman who apparently loved food more than anything else. Was she a bit plump? Yes. But he didn’t have to treat her as that made her unworthy of affection. She vows that she will make him realize that fateful mistake one day.

David Brooks, Earl of Foxcroft had led a charmed life. Right up until his father died and he was forced to take responsibility for his family and the estates. He’d been a pompous arse and believed himself above everyone else. One would think he’d believed himself a royal duke the way he’d acted. His father had run the coffers nearly empty and it had been up to him to restore their fortune. He could have married an heiress, but felt that was a cowardly way out. Instead he built their fortune in a more scandalous way: by doing a trade and working. Now that he feels secure enough with his family’s status he has decided to take a wife. When he sees her, he has to have her. What he doesn’t realize is he’d rebuffed her years earlier and she may not be so forgiving now.

It’s been five years since the Earl of Foxcroft insulted Victoria. Her curves are still lush, but in a more sultry way. She has learned how to enhance her features by doing something a little scandalous: taking rogue lessons. She plans on seducing the earl and leaving him a besotted fool, then telling him he’s not good enough for her. But somewhere along the way that plan back fires on her and it might not be so easy to walk away from the man who has always owned her heart.
