An unexpected invitation sees Ellie Blaine leave her Indiana home for the rolling hills and moors of north Yorkshire, and the grand home of the stern Dr Richard Lindley – brother to her late, war hero fiancee Bertie.

If Ellie is unsure what she is doing in England, she soon has an even more complex mystery to solve when an apparent grisly accident is swiftly followed by murder – with both victims found clutching a single white feather.

She soon learns that Melmersby Hall, and its seemingly idyllic village, harbour deep secrets that someone wants to hide at any cost. With the help of her new friends, and the hindrance of some who are not so pleased to have her as a guest, she must find out what connects the victims before anyone else – perhaps even herself – falls prey to the Secret of Feathers.

Ellie Blaine is a traditional, Golden Age Cozy Mystery series, packed with intrigue, diabolical villains, endearing friends, humour, emotion, a little romance and a real sense of history in the fascinating years following the Great War.
