Sleeping Beauty meets Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (with some fun ACOTAR elements)
Carabosse, "Cara," was banned from the world of the fae, supposedly for cursing Sleeping Beauty (even though Talia, Miss Sleeping Beauty, is very much alive and awake). Cara has strong suspicions that the fae world ostracized her due to a disability that developed from childhood.
Now living in Central California, Cara is presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a competition that will allow someone to enter the world of spirits, her one ticket back home.
As she recruits a team of several misfits, like Ariel from Tempest, creatures who have been discarded for being different or having disabilities, they may have a good shot at returning to their respective homes if they win the competition.
But a deadly twist in the games may not only prevent Cara from getting back home...but she may also lose all of her friends in the process, and very possibly her life.
Told in a combination of chat fiction and prose chapters, Awaken the Elementals brings the world of disabilities into the deadly world of the fae.
Genre: Fantasy
