Sisters Miranda and Rosalind leave Ledburgh for fame and fortune in London. The paths they follow are very different. Rosalind marries and moves to Greece and Miranda becomes a successful actress. When Miranda returns to Ledburgh to nurse her sick mother she meets her childhood sweetheart, Martin Kendall. But a cry for help leads Miranda to Greece, playing opposite the charming Peter Deane. Miranda finds this the most difficult part she has played so far.
