Maddie, a dedicated and somewhat obsessive mother of two, finds herself without a sense of purpose and identity when her children grow up and leave the nest. Her new loneliness is overwhelming. Depression and addiction set themselves up as viable options as Maddie struggles through this major life transition. The challenge of rediscovering herself is daunting.Due to years of marital neglect, Maddie and her husband Mark are estranged. He absorbs himself in work and finds consolation in his success.
