A novel by

Angels Turn Their Backs was orginally published by Kids Can Press in 1998.

Fifteen-year-old Addie Jarrick is smart, funny, and loves to laugh. She does well in school and adores reading, old movies and needlework. But suddenly her parents split up, and Addie and her Mom move away from Toronto, leaving behind Addie's school, her father, and the one real friend Addie thought she had.

Even when she was a kid, Addie tended to be fearful. But now she is falling apart. She can't hear people when they are right in front of her, but she can hear voices that no one else can. The world has become hostile, and the only safe place is her apartment in a ramshackle Winnipeg house.

Addie is terrified. She must have gone crazy....and can't see anyway back to the normal world.
