A Tale of Ancestral Secrets, Divination, and Supernatural Legends
As an unusual wave of treasure hunters descended upon the town, Eleanor couldn't help but feel a growing sense of curiosity. She soon discovers they were all chasing the same elusive legend - the tale of an old gnome who, many years ago, supposedly buried his treasure in this very land.
The story went as follows:
“There were stories of a gnome who came to visit the town. At the time, plenty of people claimed to have met him at the local tavern, but these accounts are dubious. Many claimed that the gnome would buy drinks for everyone, claiming to have returned from a journey to the darkest, remotest, and most unexplored corners of the world and that he had found an incredible treasure there. He would buy their drinks with gold coins with a strange rune on them—a symbol of power, some claimed, from long-lost people.”
Although it all sounds pretty unlikely, Eleanor couldn’t stop thinking about the story.
There was something about it that she found irresistible, but she couldn’t say why.
