A Comedy of Manners and Werewolves
After his mother’s abduction, Roland de Grateloup—only son of the High Witch, confirmed bachelor and rake, and werewolf—has fled London for the quiet village of Netherford.
The prospect of a whole season among country folk yawning ahead of him, he returns to his favourite hobby: matchmaking. Roland throws himself into the Game of Hearts, interfering in the lives of the people of the village and trying to distract himself from his business partner and landlord, the beautiful if awkward Basil Hode.
But he and Basil are forced to venture into Faerie together, to rescue their friend Edith Rookwood from her enemies. What exactly is going on between them is a question that will have to wait; as the future of the mortal world itself hangs in the balance, the two men must keep their minds on the task in front of them.
