Tourists are pouring in by the carload, filling the hiking trails, the diner booths, and Sadie Barton’s charming old-fashioned motel and dog boarding facility. Business is booming, and at first it looks like this might be Sadie’s best summer yet.
But when the sunshine brings with it trash, graffiti, and an abandoned dog, Sadie and her best friend Penny realize not all the visitors are here for recreation and southern charm. When Sunshine Desserts nearly goes up in smoke, horrified whispers of arson ripple through town.
The string of petty crimes takes a dark turn and a body is found. Once again, all eyes land on Sadie’s motel. With her business and reputation on the line, Sadie’s determined to uncover the truth. But in a town where everyone has secrets and tempers run hotter than the Georgia sun, she’ll have to tread carefully… or risk becoming the next check-out at her own motel.
