Under Fire and Siege
(2026)(The fourth book in the Tom Archer WWII series)
A novel by Richard A Basquill
Tobruk, 1941.
There would be no Dunkirk here. If the garrison had to leave, it would fight its way out.
After the fighting of Operation Compass, Tom Archer and the men of the Greenmoor Light Infantry find themselves part of the force defending a fortress under siege.
Through the long months of the siege, they face constant danger and the hardships of desert life. Between moments of fierce fighting come the routines, friendships and small comforts that help them carry on.
For Archer, each new demand brings the responsibility of command and the knowledge that the war is changing both him and the men he leads. Beside him are Jacks and Matthews, men who have followed him since France. Together, they must draw on everything the war has taught them to keep their men alive.
Under Fire and Siege is the fourth novel in Richard A. Basquill’s Tom Archer WWII Series, following a fictional British officer through the real campaigns of the Second World War.
One man. One war.
