Burning Blue

(1982)
A novel by

The Atlantic, 1942.

When Walter Crisham is appointed as squadron leader for the Royal Air Force Coastal Command unit in the bitterly cold winter of 1942, he is less than pleased to discover that his station commander is Group-Captain Tennant.

Crisham and Tennant have been rivals before, both at war and in love.

Tennant is now married to Crisham's former flame and lifetime love Diana, and it pains Crisham to witness how unhappy she has become in their shambolic marriage.

Not satisfied with ruining Crisham's personal life, Tennant now seems set on ruining Crisham's professional career as well.

As the war rages on, the two officers fight their own personal battle.

Crisham must earn the respect of the men in his command. Having come late to this campaign from commanding a squadron in India, he is the least battle-experienced of all of them.

But who will emerge the victor?

And is all ever fair in love and war?

'The Burning Blue' is a military thriller which combines action and romance.
