Zsygmond von Fischer was one of a brilliant generation of scientists and intellectuals who went to America to work on the atom bomb. Then, in 1945 he changed sides, moved to England and led the anti-nuclear movement. His niece, Miriam, undertakes his biography but runs into serious difficulties.
