For fifteen years, Llangard has been at peace with both its neighbors and the dragons who live along its borders.
Roland has grown from a boy king into a man who sits comfortably on his throne and cares for little other than his people. Well, his people and one beautiful young dragon. As children, shared trauma brought Roland and Aderyn together. As they grew, that bond has become the most unshakeable thing in the young king's life. But Roland's darkest secret threatens to unravel the family he's meticulously built. The truth promises to take away the one thing he treasures above all else: Aderyn's love.
Aderyn loves his life, his family, and his Roland. But when Roland needs something he could not possibly give, his instinct is to flee. He’s not strong enough to stand by Roland’s side, but when the young king is kidnapped, Aderyn must find his strength quickly. Letting Roland down is one thing, but letting him disappear is unthinkable.
When Aderyn flies to his love's rescue, not only do they have to protect Llangard from a new threat, but they must shed light on the sins of their past. Only then can they build a strong foundation for their kingdom and keep all the promises they made to each other as boys.
This story is set in the same universe as the Fire and Valor series, and was first a serial on our Patreon in 2025.
