Spelling the Witch

(2023)
A Novella by

Odette Ray:
Small towns are cesspools of bad decisions, lies and hidden secrets. Home is never what it seems.
I've lived in Wildwood my whole life. I don't know anywhere else. I don't even want to know anywhere else. But that doesn't mean it's been a comfortable life.
My mother was generally laughed about. She helped most of the people in this town, kept all of them healthier and happier. They never accepted or understood her.
Especially the Elliots. Rafe Elliot and his family made things extremely uncomfortable for me when my mom died. Even when I tried to start my health food and natural remedies store. He tried to buy the property out from under me, tried to get my permit revoked. I wish I really was a witch so I could put a hex on the man.
He hates me and I don't know why.
Rafe Elliot:
Odette Ray is my nemesis. She always has been. When we were in school it was because she was different and I felt strange when I was around her. It's like I was under a spell every time she spoke to me.
Now half the time it seems like she can't stand the sight of me and I guess maybe I understand why. And I understand what is wrong with me.
I love the woman. She's pretty, smart and sexy as hell. She makes my heart race whenever she strolls by, glaring at me.
I need a spell to make the town witch fall in love with me. And I might have found one when I save her from a fire that burned down her house. She smiles at me for the first time and I know I'm lost. I'm hers. I just have to put a spell on my favorite witch and make her fall as in love with me as I am with her.
