Great characters and cute twists make this a super engaging read
Following a dog walker’s discovery of a man’s body in woodland, police identify the victim as Dr Scott Deeley, a GP who seems to have been liked and respected.
Only on digging further do they realize that he had been subject to a tribunal after the death of a young boy in his care.
The boy’s parents are obvious suspects. But perhaps too obvious. Detective Sergeant Sunita Roy is tasked with digging deeper into the man’s increasingly intriguing world.
But her own life is thrown in the air when she discovers her boyfriend in the force is still seeing his ex-wife.
With that and an internal affairs investigation going full throttle, the Heart of England police have a firestorm on their hands.
