Confederated to Death

Sadie Cooper is too desperate for cash to refuse anyone's business. When a rich eccentric wants to hire her to protect his dog by going undercover at a beauty pageant, she thinks for once the job will be a cinch. There's one catch, though--the pageant is supposed to be authentic to the Civil War, complete with a male escort. After finding a suitable escort, Sadie is determined to make the dog her first priority. But once she's at the pageant, her old competitive instinct kicks in. She's determined to take the crown, but this time the stakes might be murder.
